Discipline at REACH

Every student has the right to be educated in a safe, respectful and welcoming environment.  Every educator has the right to teach in an atmosphere free from disruption and obstacles that impede learning. This will be achieved through the adoption and implementation of a consistent school-wide positive behavior support discipline plan for REACH.  In order to create an atmosphere that is conducive to teaching and learning at REACH, standards must be upheld so that students have an opportunity to mature intellectually, socially and emotionally.  Students, parents/guardians and teachers are responsible for supporting a positive classroom and school. Individual students have the responsibility of complying with school and classroom regulations. These regulations apply before, during, and after school and school events, whether on or off campus; as well as on the school-contracted buses. REACH incorporates a system of immediate and appropriate responses to student misbehavior, such as Restorative discipline Practices and Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) to assist school personnel to effectively address and correct patterns of student misconduct.
