A new chapter in REACH history has been written, and our entire community has something incredible to celebrate.
We are proud to recognize Luz D., Rhian W., and Zahara D., who each earned Gold Medals in the Junior Division (Grades 6–8) at the Riverside County Science and Engineering Fair. Their outstanding projects, dedication, and scientific curiosity set them apart among competitors from across the county.
Even more exciting, these remarkable scholars have achieved something never before accomplished at REACH. They are the first scholars in school history to advance to the California State Science & Engineering Fair.
This prestigious event represents the final level of science fair competition in California for middle and high school students. For more than 70 years, the California Science & Engineering Fair has celebrated the brightest young scientific minds across the state, providing a platform for students to present original research, innovative experiments, and groundbreaking ideas.
This year marks the 75th annual California Science & Engineering Fair, which will take place April 11–12, 2026, at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. The event is expected to welcome approximately 900 participants from 400 schools across California, showcasing nearly 800 research projects and competing for awards totaling about $30,000.
For our REACH scholars to advance to this level is an extraordinary achievement and a powerful reflection of the curiosity, perseverance, and innovation we strive to cultivate every day. Through careful research, critical thinking, and countless hours of work, Luz, Rhian, and Zahara demonstrated what is possible when determination meets opportunity.
Their success represents more than individual accomplishment—it inspires our entire community of learners. These scholars have raised the bar for what future Royals can achieve and reminded us all that big ideas can come from young minds with the courage to ask bold questions.
As they prepare to represent REACH on the state stage, we couldn’t be more proud of their hard work and dedication.
Congratulations, Luz, Rhian, and Zahara. Your passion for science, innovation, and discovery continues to inspire us all.
Go Royals!
