Delaney Harris grew up in Corona and graduated from the University of California, Riverside, where she made her mark both academically and athletically. As a former scholarship athlete, she became a UCR 2023 Big West Track and Field 4x400 meter relay champion, earned a spot on ESPN+ for one of the Top 5 fastest 100-meter times in UCR women’s track history, and became bilingual despite coming from a monolingual family. Her love for Spanish began in high school, where she discovered a passion for helping her classmates understand the language. She went on to work as an online Spanish tutor for students ages 15–35 and completed a year of student teaching before joining REACH. Delaney loves teaching the language she’s passionate about, creating a classroom that is safe, structured, fun, and learning from her students when they share their own cultures. Outside the classroom, Delaney enjoys reading, running, weightlifting, and traveling. Some of her favorite books include Dune and The Lord of the Rings series in English, and Violeta by Isabel Allende in Spanish. She’s also a fan of sushi, tacos, and her mom’s Swedish meatballs. One of her personal goals is to read Don Quixote in Spanish and travel to Perú, while her professional goal is to be the best Spanish teacher she can be, inspiring her students to see their own potential.
