El Dorado Charter Special Education Local Plan Area

Effective July of 2016, REACH became an independent LEA for the purpose of Special Education at which time the LEA entered into an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with El Dorado Charter SELPA.

Located in San Diego, El Dorado Charter SELPA is a state-wide Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) organization governed by charter school representatives. The SELPA consists of a consortium of Local Education Agencies (LEA) who are responsible for development of special education policies and procedures, the distribution of federal and state special education funds, and providing special education training and professional development.

REACH joined the El Dorado County Charter SELPA beginning in the 2017-2018 school year and has continued to adhere to all laws affecting individuals with exceptional needs, including all provisions of the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Improvement Act of 2004 (IDEIA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Charter SELPA Local Plan can be found on the El Dorado Charter website www.charterselpa.org/governance under Important Resources as well as linked here.
