WASC Accreditation

Western Association of School and Colleges

Introduction

The purpose of the ACS WASC Commission is to foster educational excellence in elementary, secondary, adult and postsecondary institutions, and supplementary education programs. The Commission encourages school improvement through a process of continuous self-assessment and self-study and recognizes institutions through granting accreditation to the schools that have met an adequate level of quality in accordance with the committee's established criteria. By working with an externally accepted and recognized accreditation committee, educational institutions demonstrate to the public that they have a rigorous academic program, culture and processes conducive for ongoing excellence.

Our Accreditation Journey

REACH hosted an initial visiting committee in the spring of 2018. The Committee granted Initial Accreditation Status based all of the information provided by the school, including the initial visit report, and the satisfactory completion of the on-site initial accreditation visit. The Initial Accreditation Status granted its distinction through June 30, 2021 and extended its accreditation through the 2021-22 school year.

In anticipation of the upcoming accreditation, REACH prepared a self-study report for a spring 2022 visit. Due to the continuous coronavirus outbreak and spread, the visit was postponed until the 2022-23 school year. The WASC Visiting Committee will be at REACH from October 24-26.
