Mr. Rodriguez has been a teacher since 2006. When he first began teaching, he taught adult choir. Afterward, he started making significant changes with cognitive training. His next educational move was in after-school as a director for five years. As a director, he had an opportunity to teach 4th-6th grade choir along with many other classes. In 2015, he began working on his multi-subject credential, during which he taught science and substitute taught for two years. He came to Reach in 2017 and has strived to make a difference through science, math, reading, social studies, writing, coding, engineering, choir, band, and art. Benjamin shares how REACH has significantly impacted his life as he has connected with many lives that have helped him improve his teaching craft. Outside of teaching, Mr. Rodriguez enjoys gaming, dancing, gardening, and spending time with his family. His goal is to be the teacher that students remember as the one who changed their lives. “I want to be a difference maker because I had a teacher who made a difference in me.” He aims to help students achieve higher goals, dream bigger dreams, and go to and beyond college so that they can be the next generation of difference-makers in our world.
